Read on to discover three \u201coffbeat\u201d things for you to do and see in the Bahamas.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dean&#8217;s Blue Hole in the Bahamas<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At 663 feet, Dean\u2019s Blue Hole, located in a bay west of Clarence Town on Long Island, Bahamas, is not for the faint of heart. It\u2019s safe to dive and snorkel, however, children and non-swimmers may want to opt out of the excursion. The drop-off from the beach is sudden \u2013 it\u2019s a heart pounding experience!<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Hermitage on Cat Island<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Not only is Cat Island the boyhood home of Oscar winning actor Sidney Poitier, but it\u2019s the home of Monsignor John Hawes, known as Father Jerome. He built Mount Alvernia (named after St. Francis who reportedly received stigmata, or wounds of the cross), a tall stone monastery on a hill overlooking the ocean.
