line-height: 1.7;\">Kiribati (pronounced Kir-\u012d-bahss) is a group of 33 coral atolls separated into\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #444444; line-height: 1.7;\">groups \u2013the Gilbert Islands, the Phoenix Islands and the Line Islands.\u00a0 If you&#8217;re planning on sending your clients there, I would suggest doing so soon, since climate change (whether you believe in it or not), dwindling fresh water reserves, overpopulation and pollution are all driving the island closer to extinction. \u00a0Also be prepared, the island as a whole is poor so your clients should\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #444444; line-height: 1.7;\">expect to see a lot of people living in poverty.\u00a0 Despite these issues, Kiribati has\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #444444; line-height: 1.7;\">plenty of positive experiences to offer\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #444444; line-height: 1.7;\">visitors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #444444; line-height: 1.7;\"><!--more--><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Your first challenge is getting there.\u00a0 Kiribati is only serviced by one airline and although once a popular port stop for Hawaiian Cruises because of the Jones Act, most cruise lines now opt to stop in Mexico since it has a bigger draw.\u00a0 So you&#8217;ll need to start by getting yourself to one of the following places: New York, Austin, Los Angeles or Honolulu. \u00a0Once there you can fly Fiji Airways to either Tarawa or Kiritimati (Christmas) Island. \u00a0Where you go next depends on what you plan to do while in Kiribati.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_241\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-241\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/tpi.itbyus.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/kiribatisurf.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-241 \" src=\"https:\/\/tpi.itbyus.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/kiribatisurf-300x1521.jpg\" alt=\"\u00a9ChristmasIslandSurf.com\" width=\"300\" height=\"152\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-241\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">\u00a9ChristmasIslandSurf.com<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Side note: Personally, I have no complaints about having to take a quick trek to Hawaii.\u00a0 Think of it as a vacation in a vacation.\u00a0 But New York, Austin and L.A. are nice too.<\/p>\n<p>Kiribati is beach, and beach, and beach and then a smattering of some other stuff.\u00a0 If you&#8217;re not a big fan of water this is may not be the destination for you.\u00a0 But if you&#8217;re an aquaphile consider:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Surfing<br \/>\n<\/strong>Love the waves, hate the crowds?\u00a0 Kiribati&#8217;s waters provide surf enthusiasts superior swells and little competition for space.\u00a0 In fact, the government regulates surfing in Kiribati and according to <a title=\"Kiribati Going off the Surf Map\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dailystoke.com\/2010\/08\/kiribati-going-off-the-surf-map\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">DailyStoke.com<\/a> only \u201c11 surfers are allowed in the water at any given time\u201d.\u00a0 I&#8217;m going to assume that&#8217;s per designated surf area since Fanning Island, Naa and Kiritimati all boast superior surfing venues.\u00a0<a title=\"Christmas Island Surf\" href=\"http:\/\/www.christmasislandsurf.com\/145110\/html\/page.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ChristmasIslandSurf.com<\/a> designates October through April as surf season, boasting waves averaging around 6ft.\u00a0 Surfers of all skill can enjoy the breakers in both Kiritimati and Fanning Island but may want to leave Naa for the more advanced surfers.<\/p><div class=\"post-cta-roar\"><div class=\"post-cta-roar__inner\"><h2 class=\"post-cta-roar__headline\">5,800+ Rockstars Have Partnered With Us<\/h2><p class=\"post-cta-roar__paragraph\">Determine which path is right for you<\/p><div class=\"post-cta-roar__buttons\"><div class=\"post-cta-roar__button\"><a href=\"https:\/\/tpi.itbyus.com\/?page_id=16967\" title=\"New to Biz Page\" class=\"btn--primary btn--post-cta-roar js-new-button\"><span>I'm a New Agent<\/span><\/a><\/div><div class=\"post-cta-roar__button\"><a href=\"https:\/\/tpi.itbyus.com\/?page_id=140\" title=\"Experienced Agents Page\" class=\"btn--secondary btn--post-cta-roar js-experienced-button\"><span>I'm An Experienced Agent<\/span><\/a><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<figure id=\"attachment_243\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-243\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/tpi.itbyus.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/mod_dive_tarawa_1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-243 \" src=\"https:\/\/tpi.itbyus.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/mod_dive_tarawa_1-300x216.jpg\" alt=\"\u00a9Kiribati Tourism Board\" width=\"300\" height=\"216\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-243\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">\u00a9Kiribati Tourism Board<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Not a surfer?\u00a0 Don&#8217;t worry, Kiribati has a variety of other water activities for\u00a0visitors.\u00a0 Fishing, free\/scuba diving and snorkeling are popular activities enjoy.\u00a0 \u00a0Or find a boat charter and just spend a day sailing the Pacific.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"line-height: 1.7;\">Historic Sites<br \/>\n<\/strong>If you find yourself in need of a break from the crystalline waters, consider touring Kiribati&#8217;s historic sites. \u00a0Kiribati \u201clay claim to some of the bloodiest battles [of World War II]\u201d according to <a title=\"Kiribati Tourism\" href=\"http:\/\/www.kiribatitourism.gov.ki\/index.php\/thingstodo\/worldwariitouriing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kiribati&#8217;s Tourism Site<\/a>. \u00a0On the Tarawa and Butaritari Atoll you can tour the\u00a0<span style=\"color: #444444;
