According to The World Youth Student and Education Travel Confederation, \u201cMillennials are projected to take 320 million international trips by 2020. This is a 47% increase from the 217 million trips they took in 2013.\u201d Keep in mind that the Gen Y group generates more than $180 billion in travel revenue \u2013 resulting in a 30% growth since 2007.<\/p>\n

But what\u2019s driving Millennials to travel?<\/p>\n

For starters, they\u2019re the most online generation with easy access to social media, budget travel apps and tools, and forums and message boards. Millennials also gravitate toward hip companies, such as Airbnb, Couchsurfing, Home Away, and others.<\/p>\n

Most importantly, they\u2019re leaving their parents and grandparents 9-to-5 work regime to travel the world. Why? Because living longer, happier lives are important to Millennials.<\/p>\n

With the option to work from home or having a flexible work schedule, Millennials can travel more. Plus, they\u2019re starting their own businesses, most of which are online and tech based, resulting in more time and money for travel.<\/p>\n

This is according to the fifth annual Global Millennials survey found on Bloomberg \u2013 Deloitte<\/a> surveyed 7,700 working college-educated professionals in 29 countries.
